After three years of hiatus, the new version of the iconic SUV should come next year, as 2019 Land Rover Defender. The history of this off-road vehicle started 35 years ago. For all this time, the famous SUV didn’t change a lot. For all those years of production, which lasted between 1983 and 2016, this model kept its original shape and most of its base design characteristics. However, the modern automotive industry insists on often updates, which constantly brand new design solutions, technologies, improved performances etc. Latest reports suggest the 2019 Land Rover Defender is in the late stage of development and that should hit the market next year. However, we didn’t manage to get any official details, so we must rely primarily on rumors.
2019 Land Rover Defender Redesign
The legendary SUV is out of production for more than two years. So, you can presume how many rumors and speculations can be found on the network. Still, we have our reliable insider, who claims that the new model is about to get an all-aluminum chassis. If this happens to be true, we can expect significant weight saving compared to the old original model. Basically, this means significant improvements in all aspects, starting with the performance, efficiency, fuel economy and much more. Despite the massive use of aluminum, the new model should keep the same dose of strength and rigidity. So, a new light bodyweight should affect off-road capabilities.
