2021 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid combines a 3.0-liter V6 powertrain and electric motor. This system will produce 321 hp and 289 lb of torque. The combination works flawlessly. As a result, the Sport Hybrid gains better efficiency, and better acceleration through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
On the rear side of Hybrid will be two electric motors, for one front wheel each. The estimated EPA for the Sport Hybrid is 26/27 mpg. As for the cabin, this version offers additional Technology Package with navigation, a 10-speaker ELS premium audio system, and perforated leather seats. The optional 20-inch wheels and a blind-spot monitoring system are included as well.
Release Date and Price
2021 Acura MDX comes with a starting price of $46,300. The AWD system adds an extra $2,000 to the sum. Of course, if you choose the additional Technology or Advance Package, the price might go over $60K mark. The Volvo XC90 and Infiniti QX60 will be the main competitors with a similar price range.
Still, the new MDX is more expensive than the Buick Enclave and more affordable than BMW X5, Mercedes GLE, or Audi Q7. The MSRP of Sport Hybrid is around $50,000. The official release date is still unknown. But the reports from the company claim that this mid-size SUV will hit the dealerships by the end of 2020.
