The segment of subcompact crossover is pretty competitive, so it’s no wonder that production cycles of these models are usually pretty sort. For example, this model received a facelift a year ago and the company already works on the next-generation model. A completely new version should be ready pretty soon, but not for the 2019 Buick Encore model. This one will continue in the same way. We are about to see a familiar design, which includes all the novelties that came last year. The trim level organization will also remain unchanged, though each version could get some novelties in terms of standard features. Finally, expect to see the same engine lineup that consists of two engine choices.
2019 Buick Encore Design
In terms of base design characteristics, this subcompact crossover continues in the same way for sure. Although we saw an update last year, base design characteristics are practically the same as for the initial model that came five years ago. We didn’t see changes in terms of mechanics. On the other side, there are numerous styling upgrades that make this small crossover far more attractive. The recent update has brought plenty of novelties, especially at the front, where the Encore adopts the brand’s newest design language. There are things like a new front fascia, revised grille and much more. Still, the overall look remains largely the same and it will for the next year as well.
Same goes for the interior design. The cabin of 2019 Buick Encore will look pretty familiar. We will see the same dashboard layout, there some changes in terms of standard features are quite possible.
Which trim levels will be in the offer for 2019 Buick Encore?
In terms of base equipment structure, the 2019 Buick Encore will remain unchanged. We are about to see six familiar trim levels in the offer – 1SV, Preferred, Sport Touring, Preferred II, Essence, and Premium.
The base 1SV already comes with large alloy wheels, as well as with things like LED running lights, automatic headlights, keyless ignition and entry, heated mirrors, roof rails, cruise control and much more
The Preferred trim isn’t much of an upgrade. Basically, it comes with the same standard feature, but with some additional options.
On the other side, the Sport Touring justifies “Sport” in its name with several exterior details that make it more attractive. There are also a few more standard features on the inside, but nothing significant.
Moving next to the Preferred II, you get things like blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which seems very useful.
The Essence trim finally involves some luxury features, like LED headlights, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel etc.
A top-level Premium model comes with Bose Audio system. It also features several active safety systems, like forward collision warning system, a lane departure warning system, automatic wipers etc.
2019 Buick Encore Engines
Though there is a choice of two powertrains, the 2019 Buick Encore will actually come with a single engine, which comes in two output variants. It is a familiar 1.4-liter gasoline engine, which in its base version features a max output of 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. In higher trims, it gets a minor power boost, so max output goes up to 153 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. In both cases, it comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission. An AWD is available as optional across all trims except the base 1SV.
2019 Buick Encore Release Date and Price
Expect to see 2019 Buick Encore by the end of the year. It should feature any change in terms of price, so base models should go around 23.000 dollars.
