According to the latest reports, the 2019 Chevrolet Trax will be the last year model of the current, first-generation model. Introduced in 2012, this model is Chevy’s first encounter with the segment of subcompact SUVs. We saw one update a few years ago and the company prepares the next-generation model, which is about to come as a 2020-year model. Considering that the 2019 Trax will be a farewell model of the current generation, it won’t come with bigger changes. Moreover, the only tweaks will be in terms of new exterior colors and a few more minor changes.
What’s new for the 2019 Chevrolet Trax?
As we’ve already mentioned, this will be the last year model of the current generation. So, it seems natural to see no bigger changes. So far, we know that there are only two things about the 2019 Chevrolet Trax that will include novelties. The first one is in terms of new color options. According to the latest reports, the upcoming model will get three new finishes – Pacific Blue Metallic, Dark Copper Metallic, and Satin Steel Metallic. Also, the company has designed a new “Premier” badge for the tailgate, for the same-named top-level trim of the crossover. Other than that, the 2019 Trax will remain the same.
2019 Chevrolet Trax Trim Levels
When it comes to the 2019 Chevrolet Trax configurations, we will see no bigger changes. The base equipment structure will remain the same, which means three trim levels in the offer – LS, LT, and Premier.
The base 2019 Chevrolet Trax LS will come with standard features like steel wheels, rearview camera, keyless entry etc. In terms of tech features, you can count on things like a 7-inch touchscreen, smartphone integration, Bluetooth, USB, 6-speaker audio system etc.
A top-range Premier trim will get a new badge on the tailgate. Other than that, it should continue in the same way. There are things like 18-inch wheels, simulated leather upholstery and heated front seats, forward collision alert, and lane departure warning.
2019 Chevrolet Trax Engine
The 2019 Chevrolet Trax will continue with a familiar 1.4-liter gasoline engine, which is good for about 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. It comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to front wheels, while AWD is optional. With such amount of power, you can expect nothing more than class-average performances. Fuel economy also isn’t spectacular.
Where is the Chevrolet Trax made?
Considering that the Trax is closely related to models like Aveo and Sonic, it’s not hard to guess that this crossover comes from the Korean department of General Motors. Still, it is made in few other GM assemblies across the world, in Mexico and China.
2019 Chevrolet Trax Release Date and Price
The upcoming model will hit the market late in the year. We don’t expect bigger changes in terms of 2019 Chevrolet Trax price, so base models should go around 21.000 dollars.
