It seems that the 2019 Chevy Tahoe will be the last year model of the current generation. The famous SUV is one of the Chevy’s best-selling models for years. So, it’s no wonder that its production cycle is quite short, especially if we consider its size and old-school body-on-frame platform. The current generation has been around since 2014. Despite the upcoming redesign, the current generation is not over yet with modifications. It looks like the company is going to offer a lot of new things for the last year of production. Some of the novelties for the next year will be new colors, but we should see few other interesting details on specific trim levels.
2019 Chevy Tahoe Specs
The 2019 Chevy Tahoe will continue in the pretty much same way when it comes to base design characteristics. This full-size SUV has been characterized by amazing rigidity and off-road capabilities and we have no doubt that the upcoming model will continue in the same way. One of the biggest novelties for the next year will be in terms of colors. Havana Metallic and Tungsten Metallic finishes won’t be available anymore. On the other side, there is a new Shadow Gray Metallic exterior color to come.
How long is this Chevy Tahoe and how heavy is it?
This is a full-size SUV, so it’s no wonder that the overall lengths go around 204 inches. On the other side, wheelbase is around 116 inches. Despite such large dimensions, it is has a pretty athletic character since its weight usually goes between 5.300 and 5.600 pounds.
How many seats Chevy Tahoe has?
The upcoming model will continue in the same way, which means that already base models will feature three rows of seats, with capacity for 8 passengers. However, there is a special Custom Edition Package for the base LS model, which comes with only two rows of seats and can accommodate 5 passengers.
The 2019 Chevy Tahoe will continue with the same trim levels – LS, LT, and Premier.
Although the base model, LS comes with a lot of standard features. There are things like 18-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, rear parking sensors, tri-zone automatic climate control, a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, a rearview camera, Bluetooth, 8-inch touchscreen etc.
A mid-range LT includes all above and adds things like a power liftgate, leather upholstery, heated front seats, driver-seat memory settings, 9-speaker Bose audio system etc.
Finally, there is a top-level Premier trim, which comes with a full load of standard features. For the next year, we are about to see one interesting novelty – a new Premier badge on the tailgate.
This SUV will also offer two very interesting optional packages. The 2019 Chevy Tahoe Z71 is a classic off-road package available in LT trim level, which comes with off-road suspension and tires, as well as numerous cosmetic changes. On the other side, 2019 Chevy Tahoe RST is a real street-performance SUV. It comes with numerous cosmetic details, with 22-inch alloy wheels, plenty of black-trim pieces etc.
2019 Chevy Tahoe engines
Despite many rumors, 2019 Chevy Tahoe Diesel won’t come for the next year. Most likely, we will see this version in about a year or two, when the new generation comes. Until then, the SUV will continue with a familiar 5.3-liter V8 gasoline engine, which delivers around 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Also, a large 6.2-liter unit is available in the RST Performance Package. This engine delivers around 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
2019 Chevy Tahoe release date
We are pretty sure that the 2019 Chevy Tahoe release date will be set for the end of 2018. Base models will go around 48.000 dollars.
