The famous mid-size crossover has been the brand’s bestseller for years and latest reports suggest that 2019 Lexus RX 350 shouldn’t feature bigger changes. The original RX came more than 21 years ago but the current generation is still pretty fresh and competitive. It is present since 2015 and it looks like we will have to wait for another year or two to see some more important updates. Until then, the 2019 RX 350 continues in the same way, featuring the same design, interior, engine etc. The only possible change is in the list of standard features, where we could see few novelties for the next year.
2019 Lexus RX 350 Changes
As we’ve already mentioned, there are no bigger changes in plans for the next year. The famous crossover will continue with the same design and this includes a hi-level 2019 Lexus RX 350 F Sport as well. This version has been characterized by unique visual details which will carry over for the next year. Still, there is one completely new version to come, 2019 Lexus RX 350 L, which will be a long-wheelbase version, with three rows of seats. However, both the Japanese carmaker and renowned car magazines treat this version as a separate model, so we will do the same. When it comes to base two-row version, we will see a familiar face that is completely adapted to the brand’s new design language.
When will Lexus RX 350 be redesigned?
The current generation came less than three years ago, so we can consider it quite fresh. We will have to wait for a mid-cycle update first, which is expected for the 2020-year model. On the other side, a full redesign definitely won’t happen so soon.
2019 Lexus RX 350 Trim Levels
Unlike most of the competitors that come in numerous versions, this crossover is actually available in only two trims. The base model already comes with plenty of standard equipment. Some of the notable standard features are 18-inch wheels, simulated leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable seats, 8-inch touchscreen, smartphone integration, a navigation system, 9-speaker audio system etc.
On the other side, there will be a high-level 2019 Lexus RX 350 F Sport. This model comes with plenty of distinctive visual details like new bumpers, grille, 20-inch wheels etc. There is also a sportier suspension, new exhaust system etc. On the inside, count on things like leather upholstery, ventilated seats, transmission paddle shifters, unique interior trim and much more.
2019 Lexus RX 350 engine
The 2019 Lexus RX will continue with the Toyota’s familiar 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine. In this configuration, it delivers around 295 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. Transmission is a nine-speed automatic, which delivers power to front wheels. All-wheel-drive is optional. Speaking of performances, this amount of power is enough to provide 0-60 time in about 7.2 seconds.
Besides Lexus RX 350, there is also RX 450h, which uses a hybrid powertrain. A total output goes around 308 horsepower.
Will 2019 Lexus RX 350 get a new engine?
Outside U.S. market, this crossover is also available with a four-cylinder engine. Latest reports suggest it will finally be offered in North America too. It is a 2.0-liter inline-four engine, which delivers around 235 horsepower. It comes in a pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
2019 Lexus RX 350 release date and price
Speaking of 2019 Lexus RX 350 release date, we expect its arrival in usual time, which means somewhere late in the year. Changes in the price are not expected, so base models should go around 45.000 dollars.
