By looking at the 2019 Lincoln MKT, it becomes clear that the luxury carmaker definitely has better things to do than to upgrade this outdated mid-size crossover. Unfortunately, another year will pass and we won’t see changes. The current model has been around since 2010 and we haven’t seen much of updates during these more than eight years. The 2019 Lincoln MKT continues in the same way. The overall design remains the same, though there are some smaller tweaks in terms of standard equipment. Also, there are some changes under the hood.
What’s new for the 2019 Lincoln MKT?
There aren’t many novelties on the 2019 Lincoln MKT, though definitely should be. The biggest novelty for this year is definitely a discontinuation of an old V6 engine. This unit was reserved for base models and its role is now played by a former first option, far more efficient turbo V6 engine. Other than that, there are few more standard features in each trim level, while the rest remains the same.
2019 Lincoln MKT Exterior and Interior Design
We won’t bother you too much with the exterior design in this 2019 Lincoln MKT review. Believe it or not, this crossover hasn’t changed at all. Unfortunately, it still follows the brand’s previous design language, which from today’s perspective definitely seems like one of the funniest-looking crossovers you can find around. Beside undoubtedly unattractive front end, this crossover also features a pretty bulky overall shape, which sits somewhere between crossover and MPV. Aerodynamic definitely is not the strong point of this model.
Things on the inside aren’t much better as well. The 2019 Lincoln MKT interior is a real mixed bag. On one side, there is a pretty spacious cabin, which offers lots of legroom, as well as really generous cargo space. On the other side, the cabin looks pretty outdated, starting from the dashboard, instrument cluster etc. Still, a great thing about this crossover is a long list of standard features.
2019 Lincoln MKT Features
The trim level organization of this crossover is pretty simple. There are two variants in the offer – base and Reserve. The base model already comes with an impressive list of standard equipment. You can count on things like 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive xenon headlights with automatic high beams, panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable and heated seats, and steering wheels, ventilated seats and much more. In terms of tech features, you can count on an 8-inch touchscreen, 10-speaker audio system, satellite radio, smartphone integration etc.
The 2019 Lincoln MKT Reserve includes all above and adds lots of new stuff. Some of the highlights are 20-inch wheels, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and lane keeping assist, as well as an automatic parking system.
2019 Lincoln MKT Engines
As we already mentioned, an atmospheric V6 is not in the offer anymore. All models now come with a powerful 3.5-liter V6, which is good for about 365 horsepower and comes in pair with a six-speed automatic transmission. Such numbers guarantee great performances, but fuel economy isn’t on that high level. This crossover returns around 16 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway, which is definitely below-average results for the class.
How much does 2019 Lincoln MKT cost?
When it comes to the 2019 Lincoln MKT price, base versions now cost higher, which was expected considering that there is no more old V6 in the offer. The base model now goes around 49.500 dollars. On the other side, fully-equipped models cost around 52.000 dollars.
