For the third year of production, the 2019 Renault Koleos will probably come without bigger changes. The popular crossover has been around for a decade and it already became one of the brand’s most popular models. The current version is in the second generation, which is present since 2016. This redesign has brought a lot of novelties, in pretty much all aspects. Considering this fact, it is hard to expect some more important novelty on the 2019 Koleos. More likely, we will see only minor cosmetical tweaks, in terms of colors, interior schemes, few additions to a list of standard equipment etc. The new model is expected to arrive by the end of the year.
2019 Renault Koleos design
This crossover has grown up with the redesign. Initially a compact crossover, this model now belongs to the segment of mid-size SUVs. So, it’s no wonder that its interior looks so spacious. The 2019 Renault Koleos will continue to ride on a familiar CMF platform, which is in use for many other crossovers from two companies, like Nissan X-Trail and Renault Kadjar.
Despite its size, it comes in the only version with two rows of seats, which could be considered as the biggest drawback since most competitors have an optional third row of seats. On the other side, such design is highly beneficial in terms of interior space, so it’s no wonder that 2019 Renault Koleos will continue to be on of the class-leaders when it comes to legroom, as well as cargo space. In terms of styling, we expect to see Renault’s familiar design language, without a single change compared to the current 2018-year model.
2019 Renault Koleos Interior design and Features
We have already mentioned that this crossover offers a very spacious cabin. Besides plenty of space, you can count on a very attractive design, as well as on hi-quality materials. The dashboard layout seems very stylish and it is highlighted by a large touchscreen at the center. A 7-inch touchscreen is a standard feature, while an even bigger 8.3-inch unit is available as an option. In both cases, you can count on Renault’s latest infotainment system, as well as smartphone integration. Of course, there are many more interesting standard features, though the list of equipment depends on the trim level.
Another important aspect of the 2019 Renault Koleos interior will be safety features. Just like the current 2018-year model, the new one will come with a full load of advanced safety systems. Some of the highlights are systems like parking sensors, a rearview camera, emergency braking system, blind spot, and lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition system, and hill start assist system.
Where is Renault Koleos made?
The current-generation of this crossover comes from two assemblies. The first one is in Busan, South Korea, while the other one is in Wuhan, China.
2019 Renault Koleos engines
There four engines in total that Renault offers with this crossover. Of course, European drivers prefer oil burners, so there are two diesel engines in the offer. The base 2019 Renault Koleos diesel will come with a familiar 1.6-liter dCi engine, which delivers around 130 horsepower. For most drivers, this should be enough for a decent ride quality. Still, there is also a 2.0-liter dCi unit, which delivers 180 horsepower. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual transmission.
There are also two gasoline units in the offer. The first one is a 2.0-liter engine, which is good for about 150 horsepower. In some markets, you can find a 2.5-liter unit as well. This one is good for about 180 horses. These two gasoline units come from Nissan, so it’s no wonder that CVT is a standard feature.
How much will 2019 Renault Koleos cost?
When it comes to 2019 Renault Koleos price, we don’t expect bigger changes. Base models will go around 22.000 dollars, though exact figures could vary from market to market. The new model should come by the end of 2018.
