Originally introduced a year ago, this crossover is Toyota’s representation in the segment of subcompact SUVs. In most cases, we wouldn’t expect bigger changes for the second year of production. Still, this is the first time Toyota offered such small crossover and after a year of gathering new experience, it seems logical to come with improvements. Novelties for the 2019 Toyota C-HR will be quite interesting. Of course, it is pretty much all about new equipment and other standard features. Toyota will offer two new trim levels, while some feature will become standard across the whole range. On the other side, base design characteristics will remain unchanged, which seems natural, considering the model’s recent launch. Expect to see 2019 C-HR pretty soon.
What’s new for the 2019 Toyota C-HR?
As we already mentioned, there are several interesting novelties for the next year. Biggest ones are in terms of 2019 Toyota C-HR configurations. We are about to see two completely new trim levels – LE and Limited. Interestingly, those will be the entry-level and top-level versions of the crossovers. Also, there are some minor novelties in terms of standard equipment. For example, a smartphone navigation becomes standard in all trim levels. Also, a new navigation system is available.
2019 Toyota C-HR Design
In terms of base design characteristics, there is no room for bigger changes at the moment. The 2019 Toyota C-HR will carry on with a familiar design. It rides on the company’s newest TNGA platform, which brings a lot of dynamics to driving, as well as numerous benefits on the inside. In terms of styling, this crossover follows Toyota’s newest design language and there won’t be to much space for maneuvering in the next few years.
On the inside, this is a pretty common subcompact SUV. Front seats are pretty comfortable while the rear bench could be tight for taller passengers. Although a five-seater, the C-HR comfortably accommodates four passengers. In terms of materials, it is a class-average cabin. There’s a lot of hard plastic, but the overall layout looks pretty nice. What makes this crossover great is a long list of standard features.
The trim level organization will be changed a lot. There are two new trims in the offer. The base model is now called XL. It comes with things like steel wheels, automatic headlights, 8-inch touchscreen, 6-speaker audio system etc.
The next one is XLE, which adds several interesting things like 18-inch wheels, keyless ignition, and entry, leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear cross traffic alert, blind-spot warning etc.
Finally, we will see a new 2019 Toyota C-HR Limited version, which replaces XLE Premium trim. In this version, you can count on leather upholstery, heated seats, fog lights, automatic wipers, satellite radio, navigation and much more.
2019 Toyota C-HR Engine
Under the hood, things will remain the same. All models will be powered with a familiar 2.0-liter inline-four engine, which is good for about 144 horsepower. It comes paired with a CVT and features fuel economy around 27 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway.
Some reports also suggest 2019 Toyota C-HR Hybrid come to North America, but there is no official confirmation at the moment.
2019 Toyota C-HR Release Date and Price
The 2019 Toyota C-HR is about to come in a month or two. Considering that there are new trim levels in the offer, we will see some changes in price. Interestingly, the new model will get both cheaper and more expensive. Base models will now go around 21.000 dollars. On the other side, if you choose a fully-loaded version, the price will go around 26.000 dollars.
