2020 Chevy Colorado Will Get a Facelift

According to the latest reports, GM plans to refresh its lineup of a light truck. The 2020 Chevy Colorado is about to come with plenty of updates. To remind you, the current model came to the market in 2014. However, it is actually a vehicle from 2012, so this update is definitely more than wellcome. Not only that the current model shows signs of aging, but the competition is also getting tougher.

A couple of new models are coming back to the market, such as Ford Ranger and Jeep’s new Wrangler-based pickup. Therefore, the management believes Chevy should offer a mid-cycle refresh, while a complete redesign will probably come a couple of years later. The exact details about changes are still unknown, but most experts count on changes in all aspects. Besides common visual upgrades, the 2020 Chevy Colorado should come with novelties on the inside, under the hood etc.

2020 Chevy Colorado Exterior Changes

Like all mid-cycle updates, this one will also be mostly about aesthetics. The new 2020 Chevy Colorado is about to arrive with lots of visual tweaks. Of course, the front end will suffer the most. Headlights will probably keep the same shape, while grille and bumper should suffer some modifications. Many experts pointed to the ZR2 AEV concept from a few years ago. This concept will probably serve as inspiration for the updated version. Besides the front end, back of the truck could receive a couple of novelties as well. Still, the overall shape will remain unchanged.

In terms of mechanics, we don’t expect changes, at least when it comes to base models. On the other side, there is a chance to see a new, off-road version, which would come with several chassis and suspension modifications, in order to compete with Tacoma’s most capable versions.

On the inside, the current model already looks pretty nice-looking interior. The cabin looks quite stylish, considering that we are talking about primarily working machine. The overall quality is on a high level and rides in Colorado definitely feels like riding in a crossover. Seats are supportive and massive, while the legroom is pretty generous as well. Depending on the cab design you choose, seating capacity goes from two to five.

Besides three cab layouts in the offer, there are also two-bed sizes in the offer. The offer of standard tech features is quite generous, especially in higher trim levels. All models are equipped with tech goodies like a touchscreen interface, USB ports, smartphone integration, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto etc.

2020 Chevy Colorado Could Get a New Engine!?

One of the biggest novelties that are expected to come with the 2020 Chevy Colorado is a new engine. Allegedly, we are about to see a new turbo-four in the offer. It is a new 2.7-liter engine, which is good for about 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque.

Rest of the lineup is about to carry on. Base models will feature a 200-hp 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated inline-four. An optional 3.6-liter V6 will be in the offer as well. This one is good for about 308 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque.
Finally, there is a well-known 2.8-liter diesel, which delivers around 185 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque. This engine offers not just great towing capabilities, but great fuel economy as well. You can count on 20 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

Some reports also suggest the addition of a new 10-speed automatic transmission for some higher trim levels.
