The main competition and vehicles with similar price will be Honda Pilot, Kia Niro, Mazda CX-9, and Volkswagen Atlas.

2021 Nissan Pathfinder Interior
The upcoming 2012 Nissan Pathfinder is a mid-size 7-seater. As you can already tell from the configuration, the cabin will provide plenty of room in the first two rows. Yet, the 3rd-row is not so suitable for the grown-ups. The reclining 2nd-row can slide, so reaching the back of the car won’t give you any trouble.
The passengers in the front will enjoy the upgraded infotainment system and an 8-inch touch screen. We cay say that the new system is really awesome, with a user-friendly interface, and simple design. In addition, the seats are covered with genuine leather and a height-adjustable driver’s seat system.
The cargo area behind the 3-row is 16 cubic feet. But, when the second row folds that amount expands to 47.8 cubic feet of space. On top of that, the maximum cargo load is 79.8 cubic feet. The Pathfinder S (entry-level) standard equipment includes 18-inch wheels, push-button ignition, rear parking sensors, and tri-zone climate control.
Of course, that’s not all of the goodies you’ll find in this cabin. The list continues with a 6-speaker audio system, Rear Door Alert, and Forward-Collision Mitigation. The next-gen NissanConnect system is available as well, and we can’t wait to see this feature in action.
2021 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum
The most impressive version of the 2021 Nissan Pathfinder is the Platinum. This model brings a ton of additional equipment and interior upgrades. But, luxury often comes with the price. The Platinum with all-wheel drive and optional packages will cost around $47,000. However, this is a pretty good deal for such a powerful vehicle.
The components like a premium audio system, unique alloy wheels, navigation, and extensive safety features justify the price. The cabin offers heated steering wheel/front seats/side mirrors and upgraded towing package. The driver’s assistance package consists of adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
One of the best features of the Platinum interior is the rear-seat entertainment system. With all of this exclusive equipment, the most expensive Pathfinder trim is very close to the mid-size luxury class.
Engine and Towing Capacity
Under the hood of 2021 Nissan Pathfinder is an all-aluminum 3.5-liter V6 engine. The vehicle will enter the markets with only this powertrain option. But, we expect that the Japanese automaker will add another engine in the near future. Who knows, maybe even the hybrid. Until then, let’s see what the 3.5-liter mill has to over.
The total output will be 284 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. That power will provide the maximum towing capacity of 6,000 pounds. The V6 unit works with regular gasoline.
The EPA city/highway fuel economy is 20/27 mpg for front-wheel drive. The AWD system returns 19/26 mpg. The CVT is standard on all levels, as well as the FWD. In the Price section of this review, you’ll find out how much to add for the AWD.
Release Date and Price
The MSRP of 2021 Nissan Pathfinder S will be $32,500. This price doesn’t include a $1,000 destination charge. Besides the base S model, there will be three versions available. They are SV, SL, and Premium.
The SV comes with a starting price of $35,700. However, if you want the all-wheel-drive, you must add an extra $1,700 to that price. Next, the SL will be just above $37,000. As we mentioned earlier in this review, the most expansive Pathfinder will be Platinum.
The starting price of this model is $43,200. But, want you really want from this mid-size SUV will cost over $47,000. The main rivals of the 2021 Pathfinder will be Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander.
The Ford Explorer comes with a higher price tag, while Kia Sorento starts slightly lower. The precise release date is not yet announced. Some reports from the company claim that the sales will start in the last quartal of 2020.
